What is HELP DESK

Help Desk, formerly known as Let's Talk, is a brief, drop-in consultation with a CAPS team member who can support with problem solving and linkage to resources. This program is open to all students and is based on our knowledge that traditional forms of therapy do not always meet the needs of all students and that healing often occurs in community. As such, we strive to develop close, trusting, and often non-clinical relationships with our campus community. Visits are first come, first serve and no appointment is necessary. 

Mesa de Ayuda es un consulta breves con un miembro del equipo de CAPS que puede proporcionar conexión a más recursos y apoyo en solucionar problemas. Este programa está abierto a todos/as/es los estudiantes y está basado en el conocimiento que formas tradicionales de terapia no siempre son los servicios adecuados para todos/as/es y que sanar ocurre en comunidad. Como tal, nos esforzamos en desarrollar conexiones cercanas, de confianza, y a menudo no-clínicas con nuestra comunidad en campus. A los estudiantes se les sirve en orden de llegada y no es necesario hacer cita. 

Who is HELP DESK For?

  • Students facing specific issues (academic stress, relationship concern) but are not looking for ongoing therapy
  • Students who are interested in therapy but would like to learn more about what it is like to sit with a counselor
  • Students with concerns about a friend or peer
  • Students wanting to know more about wellness resources

 

  • Estudiantes enfrentando dificultades (como dificultades académicas o preocupaciones sobre relaciones interpersonales) pero no están buscando terapia a largo plazo
  • Estudiantes que tienen interés en iniciar servicios de terapia, pero quisieran aprender más sobre cómo se siente hablar con un(a) consejera/o/e
  • Estudiantes con preocupaciones sobre un(a) amigo/a/x u otro estudiante
  • Estudiantes que quieren saber más sobre recursos de bienestar 
  • Estudiantes que quisieran conectarse con un/a profesional/miembro que habla español
