Integrated Care

Integrated Care helps to support students in getting connected to the right resources so that they might be able to prioritize their health and wellness needs. Students are encouraged to meet with IC staff to discuss their concerns, and more specifically, the barriers to accessing care. Together, IC staff and students develop strategies to navigate these issues so that they are set up for optimal success, both short-term and long-term.

Who might benefit from Integrated Care:

  • Students wishing to engage in a general wellness plan and need support identifying and accessing campus resources
  • Students wishing to pursue longer-term mental health services in the community
  • Students wishing to pursue specialized medical and wellness care needs in the  community
  • Students in need of discharge support from hospitalization stay
  • Students returning to the university following leave (i.e. post withdrawal for extenuating circumstances, academic probation, etc.)
  • Students that have experienced difficulties navigating barriers to access of health & wellness resources

Online Resources

The Center for Integrated Care maintains two awesome databases for community referrals, ShrinkSpace and ThrivingCampus. Both ShrinkSpace and Thriving Campus allow students to connect with off-campus providers by identifying their own specific needs and preferences. Referrals are customized and students can access the providers on their own, when they are ready to begin services.

Other campus partners are encouraging students to utilize these databases as well for more information about services in the community. Please let us walk you through how to use this awesome resource! Call us at (704) 687-1045 or make an appointment via our online scheduling options.

To schedule an initial appointment with a staff member, please utilize our online scheduling platform, or call 704-687-1045 during our business hours, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Appointments are typically scheduled in advance, though we hold a limited number of same-day (drop-in) appointments to meet the needs of students; drop-in appointments are available by calling our front desk.

Integrated Care does not respond directly to emergencies. If you are in crisis and need immediate support, please refer to Counseling and Psychological Services, Campus Police & Public Safety, or local area resources.

In an effort to support students returning to the university, Integrated Care will offer assistance coordinating care and developing wellness plans for those students re-entering Charlotte. Returning from leave due to a withdrawal for extenuating circumstances, and/or other health & wellness related issues can be overwhelming for many. Our staff can assist you with getting connected to a wealth of resources on and off-campus, that will support you as you pursue your degree. Our goal is to help you to the finish line…..as a 49er that experiences wellness in all dimensions.

Students that might benefit from re-entry support include:

  • Students in need of discharge support from medical or mental health hospitalization stay
  • Students returning to the university following leave (i.e. post withdrawal for extenuating circumstances, academic leave, etc.)
  • Students that have experienced difficulties navigating barriers to access of health & wellness resources
  • Students overwhelmed coordinating multiple resources upon re-entry and in need of support balancing with academic demands
  • Students awaiting connection to long-term community support
